The 280 saxophones provide beginners with a reliable instrument to start playing on. They offer a characteristically bright saxophone sound with excellent intonation and some surprisingly high quality features for an entry-level instrument.
The Yamaha YFL 282 flute with open hole keys (French style keys), Inline G and C-foot.
The 200 series flutes Yamaha are ideal for flute students. The flutes from this series share a large part of their techniques with the professional flutes of Yamaha, but have been specifically designed with the needs of the less experienced player in mind. Through the use of nickel-silver, the flute can be offered for a much lower price than the solid silver models, with only minimal concessions in sound. An additional advantage is that nickel-silver is very durable.
The Yamaha YFL 282 plays easily and the accurate intonation helps students develop a good ear. Due to the excellent value for money, reliable reputation and high residual value, this flute a safe choice.
The gold lacquer Alphasax by Trevor James is a full sized Eb alto saxophone designed for small hands so that younger players can now start 2 - 3 years earlier and weighing 33% less than most conventional models.
Made of brass and based on the award winning Trevor James 'The Horn,' the Alphasax has been designed in consultation with education professionals so that it can be used for the first three of the Associated Board Grade Examinations.
Supplied with the YOU CAN PLAY TOO online saxophone tuition DVD (exclusive to Sax.co.uk)
TYPICAL PROBLEMS FOR A PLAYER WITH SMALL HANDS

• The weight can be too much for some young players (& some adults).
THE ALPHASAX SOLUTION
• Problematic keys have been removed or redesigned for extra comfort.
• The weight has been reduced by an amazing 33%.
THE DETAIL
• The left hand palm keys for top D#, E and F have been removed.
• The top D key has been adjusted to fit small hands.
• The low B & Bb keys have been removed.
• Redesigned G# and low C# keys are now easier to reach.

What a great idea! Not wishing to blow my own sax here but it was mine; but it took Trevor James' design wizard Dave Farley to make it a reality. The Alphasax plays and sounds just like their award winning Horn Classic sax because that's what it is, with a few important tweaks to make it playable by smaller hands. After years of disappointing enthusiastic 6 - 8 years olds by telling them they were too small I can now point them towards the Alphasax. Phill (Sax.co.uk)
Product Description
The Yamaha YFL 372 GL flute with silver headjoint, gold-plated lip plate and open hole keys (French style keys) is the new and improved version of the Yamaha YFL-371 GL. The new model differs from the previous one by the newly developed and elegant-looking pointed key arms. The improved pads last longer and because of the further optimized production technology, the Yamaha YFL 372 GL has an even longer life.
All 300 series flutes have a headjoint which is made entirely of sterling silver, which gives the flute a warmer, more powerful tone compared to the 200 series. Through the use of nickel-silver for the body and footjoint, the flute can be offered for a much lower price than the sterling silver models, with only minimal concessions in sound.
The Yamaha YFL 372 GL plays easily and the accurate intonation helps students to develop a good ear. Due to the excellent value for money, reliable reputation and high residual value, this flute is a safe choice.
