The Lollar Bass VI pickups are designed to make one of Fender’s most unique instruments more usable for a wider range of playing styles. Through meticulous development, top shelf materials, and tight tolerances we’ve managed to take the Bass VI platform to the next level, offering improved balance, broader and fuller EQ, and increased punchiness. Compared to the stock pickups, the Lollar Bass VI pickups also offer increased harmonics and dynamics for more expressive playing. The three-piece set offers distinct benefits from one position to the next to give you a huge selection of great sounds – 14 options in all. The neck and middle deliver traditional bass-like sounds that are great for standard bassline work and holding down the low end in a full mix. The bridge position is tighter and more percussive, similar to the sound of a baritone guitar – great for playing chords and “spaghetti western” styles – while still sitting in fundamental frequency range of a typical bass guitar. NOTE: 250k potentiometers and 0.047μF caps are the most commonly used components for Bass VI pickups.

EMG James Hetfield JH SET Black Chrome

In early 2009, James Hetfield contacted EMG Pickups president Rob Turner and presented him with a challenge: to create a “stealth” looking set that captures the clarity and punch of a passive pickup and still retains the legendary active tone that molded a generation. Now available in EMG Metal Works Finishes and EMG’s Solderless Installation System components, the JH Set consists of the JH-N (neck) and the JH-B (bridge). Both were patterned after the pickups James had used for 30 years, but the end result was a completely different animal. The JH-N has individual ceramic poles and bobbins that feature a larger core and are taller than the 60. This produces more attack, higher output, and fuller low end in the neck position. The JH-B uses the same type of core but has steel pole pieces, unlike the 81 that uses bar magnets. This produces the familiar tight attack with less inductance for a cleaner low end.Metal Works consists of six stainless steel cap options for any of EMG's active or passive humbucker pickups. These U.S.A made caps are available in Gold, Chrome, Brushed Gold, Brushed Chrome, and Brushed Black Chrome. These striking new designs offer players and instrument builders a broader range of premium cap options. All the power and clarity of EMG electronics, now with a modern classic look.Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.

EMG Geezer Butler GZR-P

EMG along with legendary artist Geezer Butler have collaborated to develop the GZR-P and GZR-PJ signature bass pickup sets. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bass player started working with EMG founder Rob Turner in 2011, looking to recreate the classic bass tones he had in Black Sabbath’s early days. As Geezer and Black Sabbath moved from studio to touring in 2013 the final component of getting the classic Geezer tone was in play - a passive pickup with a truly vintage tone an feel.To recapture Geezer’s early Black Sabbath tone, it meant a new EMG vintage style passive P & PJ design with a few modern touches. The all solderless P set uses Alnico V pole pieces and custom wound coils for just the right amount of punch and grit. The J (PJ set) also uses Alnico 5 poles and features two custom wound split-coils. This eliminates the noise and hum usually associated with early 70’s bass pickups and allows for more power and volume than any other standard single coil J - creating a remarkable balance between the P and the J. The result is an unmistakable early Geezer Butler bass tone with deep, tight low end that you hear on tunes like “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” and “Paranoid,” just like 1970’s. “I never felt comfortable giving my name to any other pickups, but this time these have blown me away.” - Geezer ButlerMake sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.
