Featuring a trio of Pure Vintage '57 Stratocaster pickups, sweeping body contours and a supremely comfortable "V"-shape neck with a 7.25" radius maple fingerboard, the American Vintage II 1957 Stratocaster reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original. Other appointments include a vintage-accurate synchronized tremolo with cold rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, single-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners and a single-ply pickguard.

Offered in three stunning nitrocellulose lacquer finishes - 2-Color Sunburst and Sea Foam Green over alder and Vintage Blonde over ash - the American Vintage II 1957 Stratocaster celebrates a true icon of Fender instrument design.

ASH OR ALDER BODY

Ash is a warm-toned wood with clear, bright highs, defined midrange and a beautiful grain pattern. Alder has a well-balanced tone with beefy mids and a robust low-end.

7.25” RADIUS MAPLE FINGERBOARD

The 7.25”-radius fingerboard provides the comfortable playing feel of a vintage instrument, while vintage-tall frets make it easier to bend notes.

1957 “V”-SHAPE NECK

In vintage years, the shape and thickness of Fender guitar necks varied tremendously. The American Vintage II Series features authentic neck profiles from Fender’s past.

PURE VINTAGE '57 STRATOCASTER PICKUPS

Specially voiced to reproduce the authentic sound and performance of individual model years, Pure Vintage pickups are constructed just like pickups from Fender’s golden years. Materials include cloth-covered wire, fiber bobbins and alnico magnets.

VINTAGE-STYLE HARDWARE

From the bridge to the string tree and tuning machines, every piece of American Vintage II hardware is manufactured to look, sound and function just like it did on the originals. Much of the American Vintage II hardware is still manufactured on the original ‘50s and ‘60s era Fender factory machines.

Fender AV II 1972 Tele Thinline Olympic White

The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a remarkably accurate take on the revolutionary designs that altered the course of musical history. Built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone. The Telecaster® Thinline first debuted in July of 1968 and the semi-hollow design was created to produce light instruments from heavy ash. Reimagined in late '71 around a pair of Wide-Range humbucking pickups mounted to a reshaped curvy pearloid pickguard, the souped-up second-generation Telecaster Thinline had its first full year of production in 1972. Notably, it was Fender's first six string with humbucking pickups and the first Tele® with six adjustable bridge saddles. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original. Featuring a "C"-shape hard rock maple neck, the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline plays like a dream with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. To create authentic Wide-Range humbucking pickups, we resurrected CuNiFe magnets, an essential element in recreating the sonics of the originals. Characteristic of production in 1972, this Thinline is outfitted with a convenient "Bullet" style truss rod nut, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism, "F" stamped tuners, 6-saddle string-through body hardtail with bent steel saddles and offered in Olympic White over a semi-hollow ash body.
