THE LONG STORY

Made famous by Jimi Hendrix, the Octavio Fuzz and its touch-responsive octave-up saturation continue to be employed by modern players, from straight-up rockers to low ’n’ slow doomsayers. For the first time ever, that iconic effect has joined the MXR standard line. The layout is as simple as it ever has been—just set the Output and Fuzz controls to your desired volume and intensity, and allow your picking and plucking dynamics to coax out the pedal’s legendarily searing, synth-like tones.

SolidGoldFX Fuzzbox

Classic Fuzztones for the Modern age The SGFX Fuzzbox is a modern evolution of one of the most iconic fuzz circuits ever made, the Tone Bender Mk II. Originally developed in mid-’60s England, the Mk II helped define the sound of British rock with its thick, harmonically rich tone and incredible response to a player’s touch. It became an extension of the guitar itself, cleaning up with the volume knob and exploding into rich, singing sustain when pushed. That unmistakable sound found its way onto countless recordings and stages in the hands of players like Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Mick Ronson. These artists helped shape fuzz into something expressive, dynamic, and unmistakably musical. Fuzzbox builds on that legacy with a refined silicon design that preserves the character and responsiveness of the original while expanding its range and control. The goal isn’t to recreate one particular vintage unit, but to capture the essence of what made the Mk II so inspiring and give you the tools to shape it around your own sound and playing style.
