The Warm Audio Centavo is an accurate recreation of one of the most unattainable overdrive pedals in guitar history. Known by its lauded boost and overdriven tones, the craze for this uber-popular pedal continues today, long after its original production from 1994 to 2009. With prices soaring into unthinkable prices for a three-knob overdrive, it’s no wonder that guitar players like Jeff Beck, Joe Perry, John Mayer, and Josh Homme have found all the mythical magic of the original pedals to be worth the hype. The Warm Audio Centavo is a true-to-original overdrive pedal that authentically recreates the legendary experience and adored tones of the original, legendary box.

Legacy At Your Feet

Whether you’re after the fabled boost tones, edge-of-breakup overdrive, or you want to push your rhythm channel to true grit - the Centavo has all of the adored tones of the original pedal. The Centavo is comfortable acting as a boost pedal, but the saturation in the higher gain settings provide a platform for true “transparent” overdriven rhythm tones. The addition of the “MOD” switch on the back - famously requested by Jeff Beck on the original pedal- allows players to extend the bass response, impacting the lower strings to get added low end drive tones.

Pedal Settings & Controls

The Centavo has three basic controls on the top - Gain, Treble, & Output. The gain on Centavo breaks up fairly late, with edge-of-breakup hitting after 50% and real clipping occurring late in the gain stage. The treble control is useful for dialing in more top-end for muddier guitars, like dual-humbucker models or all-mahogany instruments. The Centavo is loaded with output and can easily deliver clean boost, or create natural distortion if the tubes on your amplifier are already being pushed. Engaging the MOD switch on the back is a great tool to have at your disposal if the overdrive initially sounds “thin” in the lower register.

Fender Santa Ana Overdrive V2

Santa Ana V2 is a JFET-based class-A overdrive pedal running at 18V internally — a design that provides the touch sensitivity and high-headroom drive that players expect from a Fender tube amp pushed hard and then some. At its heart, this dual-voice drive circuit sports three straightforward controls and a Voice switch to push your guitar from natural-sounding tight overdrive (voice A) to smooth, thick lead tones (voice B). The Drive and Tone controls provide a wide range to dial in just the right flavor of gain and treble presence in the drive signal, while the rear-mounted Tight switch pulls some pre-drive bass frequencies out for an even more focused feeling drive. To further sculpt the frequency response of your drive, a standalone, independently switchable 3-band EQ circuit is built around the Santa Ana V2 drive engine. Active Bass, Middle, and Treble controls offer a wide range of adjustment, cutting or boosting each frequency range with a center detent to mark flat response. Determine exactly how the EQ circuit interacts by using the EQ Placement switch to stack the EQ before or after the drive: Pre-drive EQ flavors the overdrive’s response by determining which frequencies are clipped most by the drive circuit; post-drive EQ lets your guitar hit the drive head on and shapes the resulting gain tones for a more dramatic EQ effect. With a fine-tuned JFET drive engine, independent EQ circuit, conveniently switchable buffered and true bypass modes, and multiswitch enabled footswitches for momentary and latching activation, the Santa Ana V2 is an ultra-flexible, intuitive overdrive with tons of tones on tap.

Fender Pugilist Distortion V2

The Pugilist V2 is a distortion pedal like no other, wielding dual independent distortion engines packed inside one chassis to crank out a wealth of thick tones. Each distortion engine can be turned on separately using its designated footswitch and dialed in using its own Gain, Tone and Level controls. This provides two distinctively flavored distortion voices, with Engine A delivering treble-rich lead drive tones and Engine B laying on thick, heavier distortion. The real magic of Pugilist V2 is in the Path switch, which runs the two distortion engines through three different signal paths as they push each other into harmonically rich saturation. The two Series Modes send one circuit into the other for stacking drive tones that can be layered like amp channels, using the footswitches to kick into the next level of cascading distortion. Parallel Mode delivers deep tone-shaping by running the two engines side by side to be blended and balanced using the level controls to create the perfect meld of articulate, chunky distortion. Featuring global Mid Cut and Bass Boost switches, conveniently switchable buffered and true bypass modes, and multiswitch enabled footswitches for momentary and latching activation, these ever-sparring distortion circuits knock out huge distortion tones with modern conveniences fit for any board.

Fender Pelt Fuzz V2

The Pelt V2 is a pro-level fuzz pedal with a classic spirit. Built around silicon transistors and a buffer-friendly input stage, it packs all the fuzzed-out tones a saturation-lover could ask for — from full, biting octave fuzz to smooth, harmonically rich walls of gain. Beyond traditional Fuzz, Tone and Level controls, the Pelt V2 takes saturation shaping to the next level with Sag and Bloom controls to fine tune exactly how your signal breaks and splatters into furry, gain-ladened madness. Use the Mids and Thick switches to deliver extra EQ shaping for mid and bass frequency presence to instantly push into new characters of fuzz. The Octave (Chaos) footswitch takes this fuzz into all-new territory by adding a traditional octave-up effect or, with Chaos engaged, an asymmetrical octave effect for glitchy, sputtering artifacts and unpredictable tonal chaos. To top it off, this buffer and bass friendly pedal features a Blend control that enables mixing of fuzz and clean tones (perfect for bass) or blending fuzz with the drive tone of pedals before it in your signal chain. Featuring conveniently switchable buffered and true bypass modes, multiswitch enabled footswitches for momentary and latching activation, and a world of tone-shaping tools for dialing in the exact fuzz you’re after, the Pelt V2 is the ultimate way to add a gloriously wooly coat to your tone.
