Fender Cunife Wide Range Pickup Bridge

The first authentic CuNiFe-magnet-powered Wide Range pickup in more than 40 years delivers rich bell-like humbucking tone with full bass and clear treble. CuNiFe pickups have “hi-fi” clarity yet never lose their attack and definition no matter how hard they are pushed. A chrome cover with a “3 3” exposed pole piece design and Fender logo completes the vintage-’70s vibe. As popular music roared with the fatter tones of humbuckers at the dawn of the 1970s, Fender hired acclaimed pickup designer Seth Lover to create a distinctly Fender-flavored take on a higher-output dual-coil pickup. The resulting Wide Range pickup used large bobbins and threaded CuNiFe-rod magnets to achieve its distinctively brilliant sound, as heard on that era’s Telecaster® Custom, Thinline and Deluxe guitars. Sought after by musicians of all genres for decades, the original-era real CuNiFe-magnet pickups disappeared when the Telecaster Custom was discontinued in 1979.

DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Strat

What do you need in order to play blues with a Strat®? The Virtual Vintage® Blues has more power and warmth than a typical single-coil. You can really hear these qualities when you’re playing the Virtual Vintage® Blues. It withstands hard picking and opens up when you’re playing with an overdriven amp. Instead of shrinking away, the sound jumps out of the speakers. These qualities are really useful for getting a fat neck position sound, but they’re outstanding for the bridge position — particularly if you have a thin-sounding guitar or use light gauge strings. It’s a tough sounding bridge pickup with warmer guitars, and makes a good neck and middle choice to match with a full-size bridge humbucker. As the rest of the Virtual Vintage® family, it’s dead quiet; there’s practically no hum at all.

DiMarzio SIXTIES P

From its distinctive tone to its definitive growl, the Sixties P™ is the embodiment of everything that made the sound of the old school Fender Precision Bass great. Built on the shape of our sculpted Relentless™ metal covers, DiMarzio uses vintage style enamel-coated wire and flush-mounted, fully-charged Alnico 5 rod magnets to keep that rich Motown soul/funk tone of the 60s. Our metal cover is much thinner than a molded plastic cover, and the compound radius shape matches the fingerboard arch. Our design puts the pickups closer to the strings for improved dynamics, and the added shielding makes it 3db quieter than a stock Precision Bass pickup. The Sixties P™ is fully potted to reduce microphonics, and it’s virtually noise free. Our circuit board mounting system drops the height adjustment screws below the pickguard, eliminating bashed fingers, and the rounded corners feel more comfortable as you play. The installation kit includes Billy Sheehan’s isolation mount tubing. The Sixties P™ is a direct replacement for any American Standard Precision Bass and handmade in New York City.

DiMarzio P90 Soapbar CRM

P90 pickups are a different breed. DiMarzio’s Vintage P90™ is a recreation of the late 50s Gibson single-coil with all of the midrange grittiness that makes a P90 pickup special. DiMarzio’s Vintage P90™ starts with our calibrated dual Alnico 5 sandcast magnets and is wound on a specially-made vintage winding machine custom-designed by DiMarzio. This machine was used to create the correct winding profile and frequency response, and the winding process is unique. We use vintage tape, braided single-conductor hookup cable, and un-dipped coils. This design gives the Vintage P90™ its sparkly mids and the growl of a vintage 50s Les Paul®. Chords have a nice harmonic bloom, and single notes are glassy with up-front silkiness. P90s found their way into classic 60s and 70s recordings on everything from the Beatles to Leslie West and Mountain. Chords have a warm but sparkly midrange bite, and single notes jump out nicely without sounding harsh. This pickup is a drop-in replacement for any standard P90 sized soapbar. The P90s come in three styles: Soapbar, Dog Ear, or mounted into a full-size humbucking cover.

DiMarzio Imperium F BRG BLK

The Imperium™ Bridge Model was developed for Revocation front man Dave Davidson. Dave’s exceptional guitar playing is difficult to categorize. It has been suggested that he be described simply as a “metal” player without any additional modifiers because he spans the gamut. He’s a true original, and we’re very pleased to be working with him. It was very important to Dave to have pickups that not only sound good as a lead sound, but also sound great clean because he doesn’t always play with distortion. The low end is full-bodied and the high end comes through crystal clear. He also asked that the Imperium™ Neck and Bridge Models to be voiced as close as possible to the seven string versions, so there’s no tonal difference when he’s playing live, switching back and forth between his six- and seven-string guitars. Dave wanted a lot of dynamics and clarity in the Imperium™ Bridge Model. He tends to play a lot of complex chord voicings with Revocation, and wanted to be certain that all the notes ring through even with a lot of gain. The Imperium™ Bridge is available in F-spacing only.
