DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Strat
What do you need in order to play blues with a Strat®? The Virtual Vintage® Blues has more power and warmth than a typical single-coil. You can really hear these qualities when you’re playing the Virtual Vintage® Blues. It withstands hard picking and opens up when you’re playing with an overdriven amp. Instead of shrinking away, the sound jumps out of the speakers. These qualities are really useful for getting a fat neck position sound, but they’re outstanding for the bridge position — particularly if you have a thin-sounding guitar or use light gauge strings. It’s a tough sounding bridge pickup with warmer guitars, and makes a good neck and middle choice to match with a full-size bridge humbucker. As the rest of the Virtual Vintage® family, it’s dead quiet; there’s practically no hum at all.

DiMarzio SIXTIES P
From its distinctive tone to its definitive growl, the Sixties P™ is the embodiment of everything that made the sound of the old school Fender Precision Bass great.
Built on the shape of our sculpted Relentless™ metal covers, DiMarzio uses vintage style enamel-coated wire and flush-mounted, fully-charged Alnico 5 rod magnets to keep that rich Motown soul/funk tone of the 60s.
Our metal cover is much thinner than a molded plastic cover, and the compound radius shape matches the fingerboard arch. Our design puts the pickups closer to the strings for improved dynamics, and the added shielding makes it 3db quieter than a stock Precision Bass pickup. The Sixties P™ is fully potted to reduce microphonics, and it’s virtually noise free.
Our circuit board mounting system drops the height adjustment screws below the pickguard, eliminating bashed fingers, and the rounded corners feel more comfortable as you play.
The installation kit includes Billy Sheehan’s isolation mount tubing.
The Sixties P™ is a direct replacement for any American Standard Precision Bass and handmade in New York City.

DiMarzio SDS-1 Black
It might look like a Strat® guitar pickup, but the SDS-1™ adds punch, gain, and warmth reminiscent of the best old soapbar pickups. The adjustable pole pieces don't pull as hard as regular rod magnets, so you can get the pickup closer to the strings for stronger output. The highs are less exaggerated and the bottom is deeper than most singles for a rounder, darker tone. If your guitar's bridge position sound is too edgy, without the push needed to drive your amp, remedy the situation with an SDS-1™. These days, it seems as if everyone's looking for the legendary sound and dynamics of the original “Patent Applied For” pickups. Utilizing Larry DiMarzio's 1959 Cherry Sunburst Les Paul® for reference, DiMarzio used the same materials as 1959, gifted ears, and decades of winding experience to create the new PAF® 59 pickups.
Larry says the PAF® 59 Neck and Bridge models were built following an “old family recipe.” We started with a 2-½-inch degaussed Alnico 5 magnet. The 42 AWG enamel wire coils are un-dipped and scatter wound. They're tuned to capture the guitar's voice and dynamics without coloring it.
The PAF® 59 Neck and Bridge models feature Double Cream™ butyrate bobbins on our long-leg nickel/silver base plate just like the originals. They are also available with black or black & cream butyrate bobbins.
All materials are made in the U.S.A. to the tolerances of the best of the 1959 pickups.

DiMarzio Imperium F BRG BLK
The Imperium™ Bridge Model was developed for Revocation front man Dave Davidson. Dave’s exceptional guitar playing is difficult to categorize. It has been suggested that he be described simply as a “metal” player without any additional modifiers because he spans the gamut. He’s a true original, and we’re very pleased to be working with him.
It was very important to Dave to have pickups that not only sound good as a lead sound, but also sound great clean because he doesn’t always play with distortion. The low end is full-bodied and the high end comes through crystal clear. He also asked that the Imperium™ Neck and Bridge Models to be voiced as close as possible to the seven string versions, so there’s no tonal difference when he’s playing live, switching back and forth between his six- and seven-string guitars.
Dave wanted a lot of dynamics and clarity in the Imperium™ Bridge Model. He tends to play a lot of complex chord voicings with Revocation, and wanted to be certain that all the notes ring through even with a lot of gain.
The Imperium™ Bridge is available in F-spacing only.

Here are the characteristics that make a great vintage humbucker: a soft magnetic field, sweet tone, perfect balance between warmth and clarity, the ability to go from clean to distorted by pick attack alone. For our PAF® 36th Anniversary Bridge we wanted to continue in the path of pioneers such as Seth Lover (designer of the original Patent Applied For humbucker) and create pickups that combine all of the characteristics of great vintage humbuckers. These pickups are not merely clones. We re-engineered the PAF® using our patented technology and Larry DiMarzio’s own 1959 cherry sunburst Gibson® Les Paul® as the reference. Larry’s Gibson® Les Paul® has a uniquely amazing sound and it’s not only due to the pickups — it’s the total fusion of many elements of the guitar itself. Although the pickups have a weak magnetic field, the sound is well defined — almost like a single-coil. We duplicated the weaker magnetic field in order to allow the strings to vibrate longer, as well as focus and articulate the attack and output. We use computer-controlled winders to consistently layer the 42-gauge custom-coated wire, achieving the exact frequency response we want. Then it’s dipped in our custom formula to eliminate squeal and microphonics. The cover is made from nickel-silver and our new plating makes it more magnetically transparent than the originals. The PAF® 36th Anniversary Neck is smooth but not muddy. It performs equally well in the neck or bridge, just as the best humbuckers from the 50s did. The PAF® 36th Anniversary Bridge is hotter than the Neck. It is not only for set neck 24¾” scale guitars, but it’s also an excellent bridge pickup for trem-equipped bolt-ons. We’ll build the PAF® 36th Anniversary any way you want it.
